Hot Air Balloons

Renee's post made me think about what we have done lately to spice up our mornings :)

The last few mornings while walking to the bus stop we have seen Hot Air Balloons. Brelee absolutely LOVES hot air balloons and she can spot them before anyone else! She didn't want to go home, she wanted to stay and watch them. So I told her we should go home and color our own. I found these two clips, and whole I know nothing else about the sites, these pages were great coloring fun! (and it looked like there were some other fun things we could find from these websites too)

Coloring Hot Air Balloons reminded me of the tissue paper hot air baloons my class made in 8th grade. You fill them with hot air and they float! I am pretty much determined to find instructions and make own of my own again. Even better than the floating candle lanterns from Rapunzel. Those things scare me! Seriously, they want to start a forest fire! :)

If anyone knows how I would love to find out! tell me!

Halloween Handprint Ghost

My mom saved a handprint ghost from when I was little (the faded ghost who looks like he is crying even though he is smiling- I can only wonder what my feelings were that day!), and I thought it would be fun to make some with my kids. All you need is:
White paper
Orange Paint
Black Construction Paper
Black Crayon or Marker
Glue
1. On a sheet of white paper place orange painted handprints, set aside to dry. (I am assuming that you know how to paint your child's hands, set them on a piece of paper then wash said hands)
2. One another piece of white paper cut out the shape of your ghost. Don't get too technical, they always look cute when they are done.
3. Cut out oval eyes from the black construction paper-or draw on your own!
4. Color in the face
5. Once your hand prints are dry, it shouldn't take long, cut around the handprint and glue to the body of the ghost.
6. BOO!

Cut out Snowflakes

Since I can remember I have cut out these snowflakes at Christmas time, I scanned them onto the computer & I can e-mail to anyone who is interested. I am sure that they would be really cute if you printed then cut them out on different colored paper. Take some ribbon or string and hang from the ceiling or tape to windows..
